Honke-Daiichiasahi Ramen, Kyoto, Japan

Honke-Daiichiasahi Ramen

Located in Kyoto, Japan.
Shop closed on Thursdays

A hidden gem known to the locals, if you know where to look, you'll find its one of the best Ramen stores out there in Japan! As usual, The place will be packed full of customers during lunch hours, and seats will be rather limited. Some customers will have to wait for their turn to dine-in standing outside of the store. The place is a bit cramped and tables for dining rather limited, but it had never stop loyal customers from flooding into the ramen shop in droves! I guess that's what the power of great tasting noodles in a cold weather can do.

As you can see from the picture above There are quite a number of items on the menu including gyoza and their famous ramen. They've even prepared an English menu for us Gaijins/foreign travelers, how convenient! The ramen noodle shop has a lot to offer. You must seriously tryout the Special noodle from the menu, which incidentally costs 800yen.

English Menu

Chilli Paste
A variety of condiments are available to tingle the palates. Spicy, salty and savoury. Try out the chilli paste if you have the need for extra taste in your food.

Chopsticks and flavorings

Bowls of soup with tasty meat!

On the left is the Special Ramen - 800¥ (extra large!)
On the right will be the Normal Ramen- 650¥

The serving for the Special Ramen is enough to serve 2 persons! Its humongousGigantic! And overwhelming!
Of course you can ask for an empty bowl to split the dish!

The healthy serving of pork meat that came with the ramen is thin, wide, big and flavourful! And the noodle is soft and chewy! Very Tasty!

Huge bowl of soup with huge pieces of meat

The pork bone soup has a earthy meaty and addictive taste! Bottoms up!!

Itadakimasu!
