(Rumah Terbalik KK) Upside down house in Kota Kinabalu Sabah, Malaysia

The Upsidedown House of Malaysia
Rumah Terbalik
Kota Kinabalu

Below are the instructions and landmarks that you would see on your way to the upside down house. Honestly, its rather far away from the heart of the city. It might be worth your day out if you have nothing better to do with your time ;-).

Jalan Tuaran Bypass,
Just key in the above address in your GPS navigation, it will take you there without any problems. If you don't have one, or rather not use one, follow the instructions here! We will take you there with pictures and pointers!

Head on straight after the traffic lights. Most of the way are pretty much straight..

At the roundabout, continue on straight, you will reach your destination after 8.8km of drive. Pretty far and secluded, away from the city.

Petrol station on the way

Another roundabout, take the second exit.

Just follow the roadsign displaying Tamparuli.

We have reached our destination!
The famed Upside down house of Sabah. Or rather in the local language, the Rumah Terbalik.

Have you noticed any difference in the car park? I bet you haven't! Look carefully, there's a car that is parked Upside down! Situated prominently at the entrance of the attraction.

The day we went, the whole place was packed with visitors! I think it was a school event that brought many many kids to the place. Super crowded. Not to mention that it was pretty hot and humid that day. The long queue was rather an unpleasant experience. The weather wasn't forgiving..

If you interested in contacting them for any reason, the above picture shows the number to call.

We took pictures along the way, it was a rather long wait to enter the house as only 10 visitors are allowed in at once with a guided tour provided. Such a fragile place?

Visitors are provided with a well positioned spot for taking pictures and making fond memories of your visit

This is the upside down car I told you about in the beginning. Visitors are free to take pictures and pose around the car! But careful not to go under it as it might flatten you on a bad day.  ;P

Entrance of the house. Magnificently constructed, carefully built, and beautifully decorated.

As with all tourist attractions, you aren't allowed to take pictures inside the house.
What is inside is left to your imagination, or you can just visit the place for yourself for a meager fee and be awed by the inspiration by the person who conceived this brilliant idea.

An upside down bicycle!

After the tour inside the house, you will be guided to a souvenir shop where you can buy exotic items related to the house such as mugs, keychain or some T-shirts?
Hey, everyone should go back with something in their hands, shouldn't they?

Its great to see more attractions are being made every time, adding more flavours in the Malaysian travelling pot. Go take a look if you have time, it might inspire you in many ways that you might not expect!
